Sunoco Adding to Pennsylvania’s CNG Refueling Network

0

Sunoco Inc. will be installing a new compressed natural gas (CNG) refueling station in the borough of Chambersburg, Pa., with the support of a $591,000 grant from the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA).

The company says it will be building the CNG station near an industrial area where several businesses have expressed an interest in using CNG for their vehicles, particularly a municipal waste hauler. The facility will also be available to the public and will be accessible to motorists traveling on Interstate 81, which is adjacent to the property where the station will be located.

The total project cost is about $1.48 million.

‘CNG fuel is gaining in popularity, and it makes sense to offer this domestic fuel source as an alternative to traditional diesel and gasoline for area businesses with large vehicle fleets and motorists traveling along I-81,’ says state Rep. Rob Kauffman.
