Scania Group, a manufacturer of buses and trucks designed for heavy transport applications, says it is now using ethanol as a fuel in lieu of diesel as a part of its own goods-transportation services from facilities in Sweden.
The company notes that it is currently deploying eight ethanol-powered trucks that primarily transport components and packaging materials among Scania's production and assembly workshops. To support this initiative, the company plans to open a public refueling station in Södertälje later this year that will dispense rapeseed methyl ester, ED95 ethanol and biogas.
