Questar Fueling Co. says it will be constructing a new public-access, fast-fill compressed natural gas (CNG) refueling station in Phoenix that will initially serve the growing natural gas vehicle fleets of companies such as Swift Transportation and Central Freight Lines.
The site is near Interstate 10 at 1001 S. 65th Ave. Questar Fueling will design and build – and then own and operate – the new facility, which the company anticipates will be fully operation by the end of this year.
‘We see Phoenix as a strong market for CNG fueling,’ says Carl Galbraith, Questar Fueling's general manager.
Although the heavy-duty carriers will initially consume the lion's share of the new station's CNG volume, the site will be able to accommodate all types of NGVs, including light-duty assets.
