Questar Fueling, ANGI Building CNG Station for HD Trucks

Questar Fueling, a unit of natural gas company Questar Corp., is developing a compressed natural gas (CNG) refueling facility in Houston that will accommodate up to 200 natural gas trucks operated by Swift Transportation and Central Freight Lines. ANGI Energy Systems Inc. will be the key CNG equipment provider for the project.

Questar Fueling, which will build, own and operate the facility, says both private time-fill fueling posts – 120 of them – and five lanes of public-access fast-fueling will be on site. Swift Transportation's and Central Freight Lines' trucks alone will use about 5 million gallons of natural gas annually.

‘Swift Transportation and Central Freight Lines are industry leaders in the adoption of CNG as a transportation fuel for the heavy-duty market,’ says Ron Jibson, president, CEO and chairman of Questar Corp.

‘I commend them for their foresight in recognizing natural gas as a fuel that could transform the industry,’ he adds. ‘It's only a matter of time before we see more trucking companies switching fuels to cut costs, increase efficiencies and improve the air we breathe.’
