Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide Inc. notes it has delivered its Q-Cab160 back-of-cab compressed natural gas (CNG) storage system to an unidentified truck OEM. The OEM will install the system, which can provide up to 160 DGEs of capacity, on a CNG-powered tractor at its truck mod center.
Quantum says OEM installs clear the way for the company’s systems to be installed either directly at the OEM or through secondary installation facilities, providing end users alternatives and flexibility depending on program delivery locations and preferences.
“We are energized to see further developments with our OEM relationships. This positive step forward reinforces our approach to work with OEMs and leverage their mod centers or nearby install sites in order to deliver CNG solutions to the industry,” states Brian Olson, president and CEO of Quantum. “Quantum continues to work with its OEM and industry partners to make the customer purchase process of a CNG truck as tailored as possible to satisfy the needs of the end user.”
Quantum launched the Q-Cab160 and Q-Cab180 systems in July, and notably, the product series is also available through the Ryder System Inc. network.
