Rowan County Transit System, a North Carolina-based transportation agency, recently partnered with Alliance AutoGas to convert 10 of its Ford vans to run on propane autogas.
‘We're a grant-funded organization, which means we really have to do more with less,’ explains Gary Price, director of the agency. ‘Switching to propane autogas was viable for our fleet because we're able to use the fuel-cost savings to pay for any initial conversion cost.’
Alliance AutoGas notes that it also built propane refueling infrastructure for the organization at its fleet headquarters. Rowan County was able to convert the fleet vehicles and acquire the refueling infrastructure without any capital expense, the company adds.
