The Propane Council of Texas (ProCOT) has debuted a new public-outreach campaign called ‘Propane Autogas: Fueling Texas’ that is aimed at educating Texans about using propane autogas for fleet vehicles.
The campaign kicked off last week with Texas Propane Day, which featured a ride-and-drive event at the Texas capitol and the launch of the campaign's website, FuelingTexas.com. The site will offer news and other resources for fleet owners.
‘Vehicle fleets that use autogas save an average of 30 to 50 percent on fuel costs compared to fleets that use gasoline or diesel,’ says Jackie Mason, education and marketing director for ProCOT. ‘Plus, 98 percent of the U.S. propane autogas supply is made in America, and Texas is home to the world's largest propane storage capacity.’
As a part of the new campaign, ProCOT is planning a series of statewide autogas presentations and road shows to provide fleet operators, drivers and community members a hands-on experience with autogas technology. Updates will be available at FuelingTexas.com.
