Pivotal LNG Adds Third UPS Facility for Natural Gas Fuel Supply

AGL Resources subsidiary Pivotal LNG has inked its second agreement with United Parcel Service (UPS) to supply liquefied natural gas (LNG) to UPS' heavy-duty trucking fleet operating out of Jacksonville, Fla.

UPS, which is in the midst of a major initiative to shift hundreds of its tractors to run on LNG, selected Pivotal as the LNG provider for its fleet operations in Nashville and Knoxville, Tenn., back in April 2013.

‘We are very pleased to expand the LNG supply service we provide to UPS,’ says Steve Cittadine, president, storage and fuels, for AGL Resources. ‘We will now serve three UPS facilities, and we look forward to continuing to fulfill their LNG needs for years to come.’

AGL Resources itself owns and operates seven natural gas distribution utilities and several LNG peak-shaving facilities throughout its territory.

‘With access to multiple LNG and natural gas supply locations, and its merchant liquefaction facility in Trussville, Ala., Pivotal LNG is uniquely positioned to serve its customers in several regions, offering consistent fuel supply,’ Cittadine adds.
