Penske Truck Leasing has launched a website, AltFuelStations.com, to help the heavy-duty transportation industry identify public-access compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG) stations in the U.S. and Canada.
‘We created this tool to assist fleets in finding natural gas fueling options that we were certain would work for their operations,’ explains Dean Stapleton, Penske alternative fuels manager. ‘We had already created this resource internally to assist Penske customers, and we thought it best to now make it available to all fleets. The site is mobile-friendly, though we encourage drivers to not access the site while operating their vehicles.’
Users can search for stations by address or ZIP code, and the website will offer data including hours of operation, contact information, accepted payment method and a map to the location. Penske says the site will be updated monthly, and there are future plans to include propane fueling stations.
