Mansfield Gas Equipment Systems Inc. says it has been awarded contracts to construct and operate two new compressed natural gas (CNG) stations in Weld County, Colo. Both projects are public-private partnerships to design and build turnkey CNG stations at existing retail fueling locations.
The first site, owned by Firestone Convenience LLC, is located in the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) Weld County boundary, and the second, owned by Agland Inco., is located in the North Front Range Metropolitan Planning Region (NFR MPO). These projects are being partially financed by Congestion, Mitigation, and Air Quality (CMAQ) grant funds through the North Front Range MPO and DRCOG along with matching funds from Mansfield, Anadarko, Noble Energy and Encana.
Mansfield will own and operate both sites, which will be open to the public 24 hours a day. Each location will offer dual-hose fast-fill dispensers to provide fueling for light-, medium- and heavy-duty CNG vehicles.
