Officials from Pennsylvania-based Endless Mountains Transportation Authority (EMTA) say the organization is proceeding with plans to build a compressed natural gas (CNG) station in Athens, Pa.
According to an article in The Daily Review, the EMTA is planning to have the project ready for bids by the end of October. Engineering firm Gannett Fleming has been assisting the authority in pursuing the project.
The EMTA has partnered with Williams Oil Co. and Chesapeake Energy to administer a $750,000 state grant that will help fund the CNG refueling facility, as well as support the purchase of a CNG-powered bus.
