Mack Trucks says Pittsburgh-based transportation company PITT OHIO is pilot-testing a natural-gas-powered Pinnacle axle-back day-cab truck in its fleet.
The Class 8 truck is equipped with Cummins Westport Inc.'s ISX12 G natural gas engine, featuring 400 horsepower and 1,450 lb.-ft. of torque. The Pinnacle model also uses two 45 DGE compressed natural gas (CNG) tanks.
In addition to the Pinnacle, which can be configured to run on both CNG and liquefied natural gas (LNG), Mack also offers a natural-gas-powered TerraPro low-entry truck and TerraPro cab-over refuse model.
