Corridor Clean Fuels LLC (CCF), a developer of compressed natural gas (CNG) refueling infrastructure, has acquired its own heavy-duty natural gas vehicle to serve as an educational and sales tool for potential fleet customers of its CNG stations.
The truck is a 2015 Volvo VNL day cab that is equipped with Cummins Westport's 11.9-liter ISX12 G natural gas engine, paired with a 90 DGE CNG fuel system from Agility. Local dealer Action Truck Center sold the truck to CCF.
‘The interest level in natural gas trucks is incredible, but fleet owners need assurance that the performance characteristics of a CNG tractor will meet the demands of their operations,’ says Dan Johnson, CCF's CEO. ‘The use of this demonstration tractor can provide those answers to our potential customers.’
‘There is a bit of a shortage of demonstration CNG tractors,’ adds Randy Spence, chief operating officer of CCF. ‘Having our own allows us, in many cases, to put a demo truck into the hands of potential customers much sooner than they could otherwise have access to one.’
