Oklahoma State University (OSU) has completed a full conversion of its daily bus fleet to compressed natural gas (CNG).
According to a Stillwater News Press report, the university started switching from diesel to CNG back in 2010, and OSU most recently added three paratransit and three motorcoach CNG buses to its alternative fuel fleet.
OSU's transit services manager told the Stillwater News Press that CNG represents big long-term savings, noting that OSU does, however, have a handful of ‘backup’ diesel vehicles that ‘won't be used on a regular basis.’
