Ford Motor Co. has certified OEM Systems LLC of Okarche, Okla., as a Qualified Vehicle Modifier to convert some Ford models to run on compressed natural gas (CNG).
According to a report from News OK (The Oklahoman), OEM Systems has been performing CNG conversions – mainly on GM products – since late 2007. Achieving Ford QVM status opens up the company to a wider book of business in the F- and E-Series platforms.
The company has converted more than 2,000 vehicles in its history, and it expects to reach the 3,000 mark by the end of the year.
