UOP LLC, a subsidiary of Honeywell that provides various services to the oil and gas industry, is partnering with engineering and consulting firm Black & Veatch to develop small-scale liquefied natural gas (LNG) production plants specifically for transportation and high-horsepower applications.
The companies will focus on building for clients LNG facilities that are capable of processing between 50,000 and 500,000 gallons of LNG daily, with the capability to expand capacity. The alliance combines UOP's process technology expertise and UOP Russell modularized equipment; Honeywell's controls and automation solutions; and Black & Veatch's EPC services and PRICO natural gas liquefaction technology.
‘LNG use is growing in the North American transportation and high-horsepower sectors because of its low cost and environmental benefits, coupled with the rapid introduction of affordable natural gas engine and infrastructure technology,’ says Rebecca Liebert, senior vice president and general manager for Honeywell UOP's gas processing and hydrogen business unit. ‘This alliance will help deliver fast, economical, efficient and reliable LNG plants.’
The companies say these LNG plant offerings are available now.
