Cummins Westport Inc. (CWI), a provider of alternative-fuel engines, says truck manufacturer Navistar is now offering CWI's ISL G engine in the International TranStar and WorkStar trucks.
The ISL G is a purpose-built 8.9 L natural gas engine that runs on either compressed natural gas (CNG) or liquefied natural gas (LNG). The stoichiometric cooled-exhaust gas recirculation engine, which is manufactured in North Carolina, is certified to 2010 EPA emissions standards, CWI says.
‘Adding Navistar completes the listing of the ISL G with all major North American truck OEMs,’ comments Roe East, president of CWI.
The company notes that 13,000 ISL G engines have been produced since it was first introduced in 2007.
