NACS Show Highlighting Natural Gas and Alternative Fuels

Signaling a potentially potent trend in the convenience store and retail fueling industry, the annual NACS Show – taking place this week in Las Vegas – is presenting a special ‘Future of Fuels Showcase’ presented by NACS' Fuels Institute.

‘For years, fuel retailers have been hearing about emerging market opportunities for non-gasoline fuels, but may not have had the chance to really understand how these fuels might fit into their business model,’ says John Eichberger, executive director of the Fuels Institute.

‘At the Future of Fuels Showcase, they can learn more about these fuels by getting up close and personal with a variety of alternative fuel vehicles and speaking with the experts who are helping to develop these markets,’ he explains.

In addition to covering emerging diesel and high-octane ethanol technologies, the showcase highlights hydrogen and natural gas – the latter of which is gaining a lot of traction among various c-store operators, such as Kwik Trip.

‘Never before have NACS Show attendees been able to take a look at the actual vehicles that might represent their future customer base and learn about the infrastructure that would be required to satisfy potential future fuel demand,’ Eichberger adds.
