McNeilus Truck & Manufacturing Inc., an Oshkosh Corp. company, has announced a comprehensive inspection services program for compressed natural gas (CNG)-powered vehicle fleets.
Conducted by certified technicians, the program includes an NFPA 52 compliance review and is available through McNeilus' nationwide service center network and fleet of mobile service vehicles.
‘With the accelerating move to CNG-powered commercial fleets, the need to maintain safe operations and meet all NFPA 52 requirements is crucial,’ says Brad Nelson, Oshkosh Corp. senior vice president. ‘McNeilus has sold and installed thousands of compressed-natural-gas-powered vehicles on the road; we understand what it takes to keep them in compliance and running at peak performance.’
McNeilus, which also offers its proprietary NGEN CNG systems for fleets, say it maintains a strategic inventory of commonly required replacement parts for a wide range of CNG configurations.

“A regular schedule of CNG system inspections at 36-month or 36,000-mile intervals is a federal requirement, and one that needs to be incorporated into a fleet's preventive maintenance program,” comments Nelson. “With McNeilus-certified technicians, parts inventory, and customer education opportunities, we are able to fill this need, and more.’
