On Friday, Mansfield Energy Corp. debuted its retail fueling brand, SkyBlu, at a new compressed natural gas (CNG) station in Weld County, Colo. Mansfield, Anadarko Petroleum Cop., Noble Energy, Encana and the Denver Regional Council of Governments funded the project.
The CNG fueling infrastructure was built at the site of an existing retail location owned by Firestone Convenience LLC. Mansfield owns and operates the facility, which is open to the public 24 hours a day and features a dual-hose fast-fill dispenser to accomodate all types of natural gas vehicles (NGVs). The station also includes a fuel management system that processes transactions and provides reporting for fleet customers.
‘Infrastructure has been the greatest challenge to overcome in adopting CNG as a transportation fuel,’ says J Alexander, president of Mansfield Energy. ‘We're excited to debut our first of two fueling sites in Weld County and look forward to continuing to work with our industry partners to develop natural gas infrastructure throughout the U.S.’
Mansfield's SkyBlu brand of alternative fuels includes CNG, liquefied natural gas, isobutanol and biodiesel.
