Last week, Wisconsin-based convenience store owner and operator Kwik Trip Inc. opened its newest compressed natural gas (CNG) station. Located at 7500 Nordic Dr. in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the facility represents the company's 14th CNG refueling station at its store locations across the Midwest.
According to a report in the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier, Kwik Trip plans to have 25 CNG facilities up and running by year-end, as well as to fully convert its more than 100 fleet trucks to CNG.
At an opening ceremony Thursday, Joel Hirschboeck, the company's alternative fuels superintendent, said, ‘We've done our research and see the advantages that CNG can bring to fleet operators. We've started the process of building an infrastructure.”
