IMPCO Automotive Nets Certifications for Bi-Fuel System on 2016 Chevy Express, GMC Savana

IMPCO Automotive, a division of IMPCO Technologies Inc. and Fuel Systems Solutions Inc., has received certification by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and the Environmental Protection Agency for its compressed natural gas (CNG) bi-fuel system installed on the 2016 6.0L Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana 2500/3500 cargo and passenger vans.

According to IMPCO, this certification expands its wide list of OEM light- and medium-duty platforms that operate on CNG and propane autogas.

“Offering a bi-fuel passenger and cargo van on the popular GM Express and Savana platforms fulfills a void in the market for working-class, bi-fuel CNG van solutions,” says Jeff Hall, IMPCO’s director of sales and marketing. “Retrofits are available for fleets with existing model year 2016 inventory. This product will close the gap on a very limited list of bi-fuel solutions that can fulfill the needs of the states that require CARB certifications.”
