IGS CNG Services and Speedway LLC, operator of a chain of combination gas stations and convenience stores, have announced plans to build a compressed natural gas (CNG) station in South Bend, Ind.
The companies previously teamed up to open a CNG station in Findlay, Ohio, and they say this new endeavor will help provide fuel to a growing number of businesses in the South Bend region that have converted their fleets to CNG.
The public-access station will feature two CNG fueling lanes, and it will be located at a Speedway site at 6161 W. Brick Rd. off Indiana Toll Road Interstate 80/90.
“We're pleased to offer a cost-effective and domestic fueling option to fleets traveling the I-80/90 corridor,” says Mike Gatt, vice president of IGS CNG Services.
IGS CNG Services says the South Bend location will represent the company's 11th public-access station; the firm also has one station currently under construction in Marengo, Ohio, along with six active facilities in Ohio and three in West Virginia
