The Italian arm of multinational supermarket chain Lidl is adopting a fleet of 15 liquefied natural gas (LNG)-powered heavy-duty trucks from Iveco, the commercial vehicles brand of CNH Industrial.
LC3, a customer of Iveco, will provide transport and logistics services for the Iveco Stralis Natural Power trucks, which CNG Industrial says is the largest natural gas fleet in all of Italy.
Starting in 2015, Lidl Italia will operate the vehicles through its nationwide network of 570 locations. The trucks are equipped with Cursor 8 engines manufactured by FPT Industrial, CNH Industrial's powertrain brand.
