GE Capital Fleet Services Offering New Approach to Fleet Efficiency

GE Capital Fleet Services (GECFS) has debuted a new group of tools designed to help fleet managers analyze, benchmark and optimize their assets' performance in concert with GECFS' strategic consulting services (SCS) group.

GECFS's fleet management customers can now ‘tap into GE Capital's vast data warehouse – which includes detailed maintenance, fuel and accident information for more than 800,000 fleet vehicles – for real-time benchmarking data to evaluate their fleet's performance,’ the company says. Then, customers can examine more than 40 different cost savings and performance improvement opportunities in order to ‘minimize expenditures based on their own unique business operations and needs, and maximize the return on investment of their fleet.’

Also central to the analytical toolkit are the concepts of fleet right-sizing and ‘cargo rationalization,’ whereby GECFS helps fleet managers identify the appropriate size and type of vehicles for different applications, thereby improving fuel economy and resale values. Additionally, GE Capital's new cargo rationalization tool gives fleet managers the ability to make improvements in four key areas: productivity, safety, total cost of ownership and environmental performance.
