Free CNG for Pittsburgh Fleet’s Drivers

Pittsburgh-based Veterans' Taxi, a unit of Star Transportation Group that employs military veterans as drivers, uses the MV-1 compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicle as its primary fleet asset. The company became one of the first fleets to refuel at EQT Corp.'s CNG station in the city, back when it opened in the summer of 2011.

To honor all veterans – and especially the ones operating those MV-1s – EQT is providing each Veterans' Taxi driver with a gift card for the equivalent of a week's worth of CNG at its Pittsburgh station.

‘We wanted to do something nice for this customer not only to pay tribute to the service the drivers gave to their country, but also to show our appreciation for their patronage from the very beginning,’ says David Ross, EQT's vice president of demand development.

‘Like any new venture, our CNG station had some growing pains as we worked to accommodate the increasing customer interest, and Veterans' Taxi drivers were patient and committed to using the station,’ he adds.

EQT recently finished an expansion project at the Smallman St. facility, adding two additional fast-fill CNG dispensers.
