TruStar Energy has completed the second compressed natural gas (CNG) refueling station for client JJ Taylor, a Florida-based beverage distributor that is seeking to shift almost its entire fleet of trucks to CNG in the next three years.
This new station is located at JJ Taylor's location in Fort Myers, Fla. The companies' first collaboration was on a CNG facility in Tampa, which came online two years ago. The Fort Myers station is similar to the Tampa fast-fill station but has additional time-fill posts to accommodate the company's 10 new Freightliner Cascadia tractors. A dozen additional Kenworth tractors are scheduled for delivery in June, and 25 more are on order for January 2015.
‘We've had a very positive experience with CNG powering our Tampa-based fleet and now can realize additional operational savings by utilizing natural gas to power our tractors that move products between our Tampa, Fort Myers and Fort Pierce locations,’ says Jose Rivera, JJ Taylor's corporate vice president of administration.
TruStar Energy designed, owns and maintains the Tampa and Fort Myers stations.
