The Mass Transportation Authority, which operates public transportation in and around Flint, Mich., is purchasing 60 mini-buses powered by propane autogas to replace its existing stock of ‘Your Ride’ vans.
A report from Michigan Live says the organization conceived plans to buy the buses last year – $4.2 million has now been approved in order to do so. Each bus costs $69,000, and at least three dozen will be purchased within the next two years.
The MTA already has two propane vehicles in service and 10 more coming online soon. The organization also recently deployed 10 diesel-electric hybrid buses.
