The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has released its Clean Cities 2015 Vehicle Buyer's Guide, an annual publication meant to help consumers and fleets compare and evaluate the range of alternative fuel vehicle (AFV) options. This year's guide is now available online and for order at no charge through the EERE Publication and Product Library.

According to a DOE blog post, ‘This guide provides model-specific information such as vehicle specifications, manufacturer-suggested retail price, fuel economy, energy impact, and emissions.’

The blog also notes there are currently 20 million light-duty AFVs on the road in the U.S.

“Today, hundreds of light-duty AFV and advanced technology vehicle models can be purchased,” the blog says. “For example, the 2015 model year features nearly 200 AFV and hybrid electric vehicle models, including more than 80 flex-fuel vehicles.”

The DOE also offers a guide focused on medium- and heavy-duty vehicles, which is available for download here or for order through the EERE Publication and Product Library.

Furthermore, the DOE offers the Alternative Fuel and Advanced Vehicle Search tool for online searches.
