Missouri Gas Energy (MGE), a natural gas distribution company based in Kansas City, recently opened its first public-access compressed natural gas (CNG) refueling station, located on Cedar St. in St. Joseph, Mo.

According to MGE, the station is selling CNG at a cost of about $1.60/gasoline gallon equivalent. Gasoline is retailing nearby for approximately $3.25/gallon.

‘We are very proud to be the first energy company in northwest Missouri to step forward and offer a compressed natural gas fueling station for public use – especially in this area, which is along a major thoroughfare for trucks transporting products between the Midwest and Southern states,’ says Rob Hack, chief operating officer of MGE.

The company's new refueling station is open 24/7.
