At the request of local fleets, Ward Alternative Energy is slated to build its fourth compressed natural gas (CNG) station in Weld County, Colo.
According to a Greeley Tribune report, the project will be the largest CNG station in Colorado. Located at the Highpointe Business Park in the City of Greeley, the public-access facility is also expected to offer electric vehicle charging and propane refueling.
Paul Nelson, president of Ward Alternative Energy, told the Greeley Tribune that companies such as Dillon Transportation and Noble Energy asked Ward to build the CNG station. The project will cost over $2 million, and the state of Colorado is providing funding through a $500,000 grant. Construction will begin this spring.
