Company Planning Compressed Natural Gas Station for Canton, Ohio

Kimble Companies, a multi-faceted firm that focuses mainly on mining and refuse/recycling operations, has announced its intentions to build a compressed natural gas (CNG) refueling station in Canton, Ohio.

Kimble already operates a private time-fill CNG station in Twinsburg Township, Ohio, that features 65 fueling posts. That facility was built in partnership with TruStar Energy in 2012.

The new station, according to coverage from The Independent, will also have a large time-fill component – an initial 56 fill posts, expandable to 78 – but additionally include public-access fast-fill CNG capacity. The proposed site is located at 1511 Shepler Church Ave. SW.

Kimble's current CNG fleet numbers 85 vehicles, and more than two dozen more have been ordered. The majority of the fleet consists of heavy-duty CNG-powered refuse vehicles.

Pending project approval, the company intends to begin construction in Canton in September, with operations following shortly thereafter in October.
