Mainstay Fuel Technologies LLC, a company founded in 2006 that designs and manufactures components used in compressed natural gas (CNG) fuel systems, says Watson Engineering Inc. will be providing certain components and fabrication services for Mainstay Fuel Technologies' proprietary CNG fuel storage and delivery systems for heavy-duty vehicles.

Watson, which maintains facilities in South Carolina and Michigan, focuses on sheet and tubular metal fabrication for the automotive, transportation and other industries. The company is brining its longtime relationships with transportation OEMs to the new partnership, which ‘significantly increases our capabilities to service our fleet customers,’ says Mainstay CEO Rod Grandy.

‘Watson's manufacturing capacity, combined with our proprietary designs and high-pressure expertise, will enable us to scale quickly and meet the growing market demand for CNG-powered trucks,’ he notes.

Mainstay's products include fuel management modules for various CNG delivery systems. The company also engineers and manufactures complete CNG fuel-delivery systems for Class 8 tractors.
