American Power Group Inc. (APG) says it is partnering with Green Buffalo Fuel LLC to begin marketing APG's V5000 dual-fuel natural gas system for Class 8 trucks using Green Buffalo Fuel's proprietary liquefied natural gas (LNG) fuel tank in the Canadian market.

The companies, which are already working together in the U.S. market, anticipate that their initial focus will be in Ontario and British Columbia. In anticipation of pending Canadian approvals, Green Buffalo Fuel placed an order in March for 70 dual-fuel conversion systems, with an initial 25 conversion systems destined for the U.S. market and shipped during that quarter.

‘Our patent-pending LNG vehicular tank will be used on conversions of aftermarket Class 8 trucks,’ explains Peter Coleman, CEO of Green Buffalo Fuel. ‘The GBF LNG fuel tank is designed and stamped to ASME Section VIII standards and is the only LNG tank system that meets all NFPA 52 and SAE J2343 guidelines, including those for thermal performance.’

Green Buffalo Fuel is based in Tonawanda, N.Y., and focuses on the engineering, fabrication, installation and operation of LNG fueling facilities, dispenser metering systems, fuel tanks and fuel system integration with both dual-fuel and dedicated natural gas engines.
