Erie, Pa.-based CNG One Source Inc. says it has introduced three new families of spark plug wires and a coil over plug for natural gas vehicle (NGV) engines.
The new offerings come at the request of an original equipment manufacturer (OEM), says CNG One Source, which will also be announcing over the next few weeks several products designed to improve the reliability of components for NGV engines.
Karen Teslovich, president of the company, says the OEM approached CNG One Source earlier this year with a video showing independent testing of spark plug wires, which were provided by a vendor for use with OEM natural gas engines. The test results revealed the components of the spark plug wires failed when subjected to vibration.
In response, CNG One Source says, it has developed the new spark plug wires for several engine models, as well as the coil over plug, which have been specially engineered and manufactured for use in NGV engines.
