CNG cylinders international Inc. (CNGci), a California-based manufacturer of large-diameter Type 3 compressed natural gas (CNG) cylinders and provider of other CNG fuel storage systems, has become part of the Winkelmann Group.
Based in Germany, the Winkelmann Group is a provider of various flow-formed products and caters to a wide variety of automotive and industrial applications, such as automotive pulleys, transmission components and aircraft landing gear shock cartridges. The company, which notes $600 million in annual revenue, says it currently has 4,000 employees worldwide.
The Winkelmann Group also currently has five global manufacturing locations (Ahlen, Germany; Shanghai, China; Langfang, China; Legnica, Poland; and Ducze, Turkey) and four divisions, including flow forming, automotive, heating and water, and steel trade.
Adding CNGci to Winkelmann Group's team is poised to benefit both parties: The agreement will allow CNGci to expand its existing operations in order to meet increased customer demand and to venture into offering value-added services to its customers. Meanwhile, Winkelmann Group will have the opportunity to expand its portfolio of companies to include green technology products and maximize synergies with its existing international operations.
CNGci is finalizing the launch of its complete fuel system solutions for heavy-duty truck applications in an effort to provide its customers with a complete one-stop shop solution. Fuel systems are offered for a large variety of different vehicle configurations and are scalable to the individual customer's range, fueling requirements and intended application.
