Cleveland Suburb Contemplating Shift To Propane Autogas

This week, city officials in Avon Lake, Ohio, heard a proposal from Councilwoman Jennifer Fenderbosch that recommended the conversion of municipal vehicles to propane autogas bi-fuel technology.

According to coverage in the Avon-Avon Lake Patch, Fenderbosch has spent the past two years learning about propane use in fleet applications, and she is strongly suggesting that Avon Lake and neighboring towns Bay Village and Sheffield Lake begin the shift. She proposed that nine municipal vehicles – police vehicles, mainly – be converted next year, followed by a pace of three per year afterward.

Additionally, Fenderbosch talked about developing a propane refueling station in Avon Lake that would serve these alt-fuel vehicles.
