The City of Hamilton, Ontario, has awarded New Flyer Industries Inc. a contract for 18 heavy-duty, 60-foot Xcelsior compressed natural gas (CNG) buses.
For nearly two decades, New Flyer says it has built transit buses for Hamilton in a variety of models, bus lengths and propulsion systems ranging from diesel, diesel hybrid and CNG. Overall, the city operates more than 250 New Flyer buses, but this new deal marks the first time the company will build its Xcelsior model for Hamilton.
