Apache Corp. has opened its first public-access compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling station at 5011 S. Vandalia Ave. in Tulsa, Okla.
The station features three dual-hose fueling dispensers capable of fueling six vehicles simultaneously at a rate of three to four gallons (gasoline/diesel equivalent) per minute. The self-service station accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express, as well as fleet cards such as Wright Express, Voyager and Fuel Man.
Apache notes that the new station is close to its Tulsa office, which will help the company be responsive to fleets' refueling needs, as well as support employees who want to convert their own vehicles to natural gas. The company itself is working on CNG stations in Houston; Midland, Texas; and Lafayette, La.; as well as converting its own fleet to CNG.
