Apache Corp. recently opened its latest compressed natural gas (CNG) refueling station, bringing CNG to Houston's Galleria shopping district at 2109 McCue Rd. This facility is located adjacent to Apache's corporate headquarters.
To date, the company has built 20 CNG stations in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Louisiana – six of which are public-access facilities. Apache is in the midst of shifting its own fleet to run on natural gas, with more than 40% of its 450-vehicle fleet already converted. The company is aiming to raise that figure to 80%.
The ceremony on March 22 featured OEM natural gas vehicles and welcomed approximately 150 attendees, including a number of Houston-based dealers and installers.
