The Utah Clean Cities Coalition and natural gas refueling infrastructure company Blu/Transfuels LLC recently hosted the grand opening of a new liquefied natural gas (LNG) station in Beaver, Utah.
The public-access station, which has been operational since early August, is open 24/365 and accepts both fleet fueling cards and credit cards. The facility is located off exit 109 of Interstate 15, giving Class 7 and 8 truckers another LNG refueling stop on the 700-mile corridor between Salt Lake City and Los Angeles. Utah Clean Cities says there are now freeway-access LNG stations every 200-250 miles on that route.
Blu's first natural gas station is located in Salt Lake City, and the company also has two Utah-based facilities currently under construction – one in Myton and another in Salt Lake City off Interstate 215. This pair of stations is expected to be open within two months.
