U.S. Oil is working with UW Provision Co. and Middleton Farmers Cooperative to develop a new GAIN Clean Fuel compressed natural gas (CNG) station at the cooperative's facility at 1755 Pleasant View Rd. in Middleton, Wis.
‘This is a significant partnership for us,’ says Bill Renz, general manager for GAIN Clean Fuel. ‘We're able to provide an anchor CNG facility to UW Provision to help them reduce fuel costs and emissions. It also creates opportunities for other area carriers to consider converting their fleets to operate on CNG, as this facility will be open for public use.’
UW Provision delivers meat and specialized food products throughout the Midwest. The company is in the midst of shifting eight of its medium-duty trucks to run on natural gas. U.S. Oil will construct the GAIN station and supply UW Provision with CNG fuel via a 10-year agreement. The Middleton Farmers Cooperative will host the facility.
‘The cooperative must be able to offer this product to our customers in the future,’ says David Rischmueller, general manager of Middleton Farmers Cooperative. ‘Getting into the market gives our company a competitive advantage, and with CNG use growing throughout the U.S., we want to be a part of that trend by providing customers convenient access to it.’
