Champion Develops Lubricant for Engines Running CNG, LNG and Propane

Specialty lubricant company Champion Oil has debuted a new 15W-40 multi-grade viscosity synthetic oil designed specially for use in vehicles that run on compressed natural gas (CNG), liquefied natural gas (LNG) or propane autogas.

Champion Oil says the new product has a reduced ash content and is ‘engineered for longevity and durability.’ The oil offers good piston-deposit control, TBN retention, shear stability, valve-recession protection, valve-train wear protection and cold start protection. The lubricant was also specifically designed to control and reduce pre-ignition, and to produce low exhaust emissions.

The company says the new oil is available in five-gallon pails, 55-gallon drums and 330-gallon totes.
