XL Hybrids Inc., a company that has developed a hybrid-electric powertrain specifically for Class 1-3 fleet vehicles, says vehicle equipment provider Knapheide Manufacturing Co. will be distributing and installing XL Hybrids' products.
Knapheide will accommodate the integration of XL Hybrids' powertrain through its existing ship-through process for commercial fleets. The companies' partnership will launch nationwide with the new model-year 2014 Chevy Express and GMC Savana vans starting Aug. 1, and the powertrain is also available for installation on bailment-pool vehicles or as retrofits for 2010-2013 GM cargo vans.
