The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has certified NatGasCar LLC's compressed natural gas (CNG) conversion technology for model year 2012 and 2013 General Motors 4.8-liter and 6.0-liter engines.
NatGasCar's system, which uses a proprietary ‘manifold exchange’ process that requires no drilling and tapping of vehicles' manifolds, is already approved for use on engines in the Dodge Caravan, Chrysler Avenger, Chrysler 200 and Ram trucks.
‘The EPA certification of the GM 4.8- and 6.0-liter engines enables us to diversify our product portfolio and provide wider market access to the patented NatGasCar CNG engine injection solution,’ says Brad Trembath, the company's president.
‘Our launch of the GM engine platform system enables major fleets and private users to immediately reduce their operational cost,’ adds Joe Wray, director of sales.
The GM kits are now available for order, with delivery beginning later this month.
