XL Hybrids Inc., a developer of hybrid-electric powertrain technology for commercial and municipal fleets, says its customers have logged 4 million cumulative on-road miles.
XL Hybrids' fleet customers continue to log high mileage using its XL3 Hybrid Electric Drive System: an average of over 500,000 miles per month, the company says. The Coca-Cola Co. and PepsiCo are some of the corporate fleets that have deployed XL Hybrids' technology.
“Our customers enjoy a quick adoption rate because the XL3 system doesn't need any special plugs, charging or fueling infrastructure,” comments Clay Siegert, co-founder and vice president of supply chain for XL Hybrids. “Fleet managers can retrofit existing fleet vehicles or order new vans with our charge-sustaining hybrid electric powertrains. Fleets immediately benefit from cost savings of 20 percent reduction in fuel consumption.”
