Worthington Industries Inc., an Ohio-based diversified metals manufacturing company serving the alternative fuel industry, among other sectors, has named DJ Johnson vice president of transformation.

Johnson joins the company under the newly created position, which is focused on driving operations, commercial and supply chain transformation efforts across the company.

He most recently was vice president of advanced engineering, continuous improvement and quality at steelmaker Severstal North America. Johnson also spent three years at McKinsey & Co. as an engagement manager, as well as 12 years in the U.S. Navy after graduating from the U.S. Naval Academy.

‘DJ's depth of experience in transformational roles in similar industries and military leadership has prepared him well for this new challenge,’ says Worthington Industries President and COO Mark Russell. ‘He will accelerate the improvement of our capabilities, systems and processes and help us realize the synergies of recent acquisitions.’
