Westport Innovations (Australia) Pty Ltd., a subsidiary of Westport Innovations Inc., is acquiring certain assets of Advanced Engine Components Ltd. (AEC), an Australian company focused on electronic fuel injection and engine management technologies.
The deal, valued at approximately $1.6 million, will include the purchase of AEC's Australian business assets, such as intellectual property, contracts, inventory and fixed assets. Westport will also attain AEC's leased facility in Perth, which employs 11 individuals.
Among AEC's existing customers is Tata Motors Ltd., one of India's largest automakers.
