Colorado-based UQM Technologies Inc. has introduced its new PowerPhase HD(+) electric propulsion system for heavy-duty vehicles.
The company says the HD(+) is a major improvement in UQM's motor system technology, offering the ability to tackle extreme duty cycles with up to 25% improved continuous power using water-glycol cooling media.
‘We are pleased to announce this new technology advancement, which is available as the HD(+) product upgrade. The HD(+) systems are designed for customers that have the need for more continuous power to handle steep grades and the most demanding commercial drive cycles,’ says Joseph Mitchell, UQM's chief operating officer and interim CEO.
The company says the HD+ advancement is applicable to all three systems in UQM's HD product family offering up to 950 Nm and up to 250 kW of peak power.
