Boulder Electric Vehicle says it will be integrating electric propulsion systems from UQM Technologies Inc. into its portfolio of all-electric commercial vehicles.
This new three-year supply agreement will put UQM's technology into the full complement of Boulder Electric Vehicle's offerings, including the delivery vans that it will be delivering to fleets such as UPS. The companies will also be supplying vehicles to the U.S. Department of Defense SPIDERS program.
The UQM PowerPhase HD 220 is the main powertrain that Boulder Electric Vehicle will use in its DV-500 commercial vehicle platform, which includes delivery vans, flatbed trucks and service body trucks. The HD 220 delivers700 Nm of peak torque, 220 kW of peak power and 120 kW of continuous power, UQM says.
‘In addition to the power level we wanted for our DV-500 all-electric platform, the UQM systems also provide outstanding efficiency, which will help us meet our driving range goals,’ says Carter Brown, CEO of Boulder Electric Vehicle.
